Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is supervised visitation?
Supervised visitation is a structured way for a parent and child to spend time together in a safe environment. A neutral third-party trained professional remains present to ensure the child’s safety and well-being while supporting positive family interactions.
How does scheduling work?
Once both parties complete the intake process, we work with you to find a recurring time that meets your court requirements and fits the schedules involved. We aim for consistency to help children feel secure and prepared for their visits.
Who is allowed to attend the visits?
Only individuals specifically approved by the court or listed in the visitation agreement may attend. This usually includes the parents and children, but other family members may be allowed if previously authorized and cleared through our intake process.
What should we expect during our first visit?
Your provider will meet with you to review rules and safety protocols. The visit will then take place in a comfortable room where you can play, talk, or share a snack. Our goal is to keep the experience calm and focused on building a positive connection between parent and child.
How do you ensure child safety during visits?
Safety is our absolute priority. We use separate entrance and exit times for parents to avoid conflict, maintain constant observation, and strictly enforce professional conduct rules. Our providers are trained to intervene immediately if any safety guidelines are compromised.
Can I bring gifts or specific food to the visit?
Usually, gifts and small snacks are allowed with prior approval from the provider. We recommend bringing items that encourage interaction, like a favorite book or board game. Please clear any large items or specific meals with us at least 24 hours in advance.
